....so I can sleep til 10:30 tomorrow.

Where y'all been?

I can't believe this is my first post on this site all summer. I've managed to throw a few up from the road on
www.eventsfrom.blogspot.com about the trips I've been on, but I haven't been here on Tuesday nights to have anything to write about.
So..... the first thing I need to do is thank the folks who have been here this summer doing such a great job. Twig, Anna, Teresa, Steve, Brien and all the kids and Sunday School help that have stepped up and been here. It's nice to have peace of mind about leaving something like this in such good hands. Hakuna Matata.
Next week Twig and I both will be gone to Guatemala - Round 3. Anna, Teresa, Pruden, and Steve have got it covered. So let's talk about this week.....

It was great! Man, I missed being here. The trips were awesome, but so is this. Twig was on the road so it was just me figuring out what to cook, and well, I won't say I was struggling, but at 4:30 I was calling up Laura Johnson for ideas. Because it was so hot we came up with PB&J"s and ice cream.
Mr. Imagination strikes again.
Trust me, if they hadn't already cooked Hot Dogs last week, I would've done that faster than
Madonna can adopt a kid, but.....

It turned out great, because there was lots to do to get ready. Plus we also made Fried Baloney sandwiches, which are great because eating one keeps you from getting too far above your raising, if you know what I mean.

Every one was glad to see the Ice Cream come out. We went through about 6 gallons.

MERRITT/KILLER/PRUDEN/SEAN GREASAK?/KIT/ and me were here tonight.

If you want to help next week, let Anna Tolar know. You can drop in on me without warning and I'll be fine, but let her know so she'll be ready.

It was a beautiful night. Right as we were leaving the 1st stop, a Hispanic lady, her two children and another lady walked up. We went and made them plates and sat with them while they ate. The children were two boys, ages 6 and 3. Absolutely handsome little boys. Named Noel(6) and Angel(3). Their eyes lit up when I told them we had ice cream. They were fun.

Both stops had larger than normal crowds, which is something Twig mentioned to me when we talked on the phone yesterday. He said they fed 90 last week. We weren't far off that tonight I'll bet.

Let's get Random!
Puerto Rico is only 100 miles long and 35 wide but it's got a Rain Forest?
An 83 ft. houseboat is a pretty cool place to spend a week.
Last night Don Vigus said "The pudding is in the results."
I wish you could have seen the praise band we worshipped with on Wed. night of the P.R. trip. High energy barely covers it.
We played a card game called Murder on the P.R. trip one night. There were 11 of us and everybody a prison themed name.
Sean Gridzek- John Coffee
Shelly Johnson- Medea
Jeanette Woodruff- Cookie
Kim Williford- Warden
Jeff Troutman- Fish
Steve Ledger- Papillion
Carl Williford - Dufresne
Jonny Liverman- Frenchy
Ryan Carr- Stone Cold
McCall Dudeck- Cb4 ( Cell Block 4)
me- Shawshank
The deal is you have to use those names instead of their real ones or you lose points and the amount gets higher every time someone does it. It was a fun bunch and they really got into it.
If I never eat at another Hard Rock Cafe in my lifetime, it wouldn't bother me one bit.
If you see anyone, youth or adult, from the P.R. mission trip or the Journey On trip, ask them to recite the Bible verses they learned. They can do it.
There comes a point every summer when I realize that I could live like this all the time, just going on trip after trip.Seriously.
I miss Mike Dub and Gray this summer.
Having my nephew Jonathan go to Beach Camp with us this year was cool beyond words.
Good talking with you again, but,I better go.
It's late and I gotta get home and go to bed ........
