Came to the party late last night, thanks to the final tennis match of the season. Everything was well in hand and going fine when I got there about 8:25. It was a nice night to be outside. Tons of folks showed up to help, thanks to people inviting their friends to come and share the opportunity we have to serve on Tuesday nights.
The meal was Pancakes and Sausage, always a good ol' fallback plan.
Here's why:
1. They're cheap and fun to make
2. You can make alot of them quickly
3. They will eat alot of them.
4. It's a comfort food, something that hits us somewhere beyond the "I like the way this tastes" experience.
5. Best of all, you get to use THE BIG METAL PANCAKE MAKER!
Plus, it's fun to teach kids how to cook them. It ain't brain surgery, but there's a couple of tricks to it, so you can come off looking halfway cool if you do it right. The "smiley face" pancake is always a crowd pleaser if you do it right.
I might miss a few helpers this week so I'm asking for forgiveness ahead of time.
